Miss Latasha!
Hi! I'm Miss Latasha and for as long as I can remember, I've always wanted to teach young children.
As a Bachelor of Science degreed Registered Nurse, I have come across many opportunities to work with and teach children. I have been a registered nurse for 13 years and I also served in the United States Navy for 8 years as a Hospital Corpsman. I have a love and passion for shaping young minds and I absolutely love and adore children. I am confident that I have acquired the skills needed to teach your child through my career and at home raising my own children. I am certified in Advanced Cardiology Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Basic Life Support. Rest assured that your kiddo will be provided with a safe and loving environment to foster their unique educational, social and emotional needs. We want to get to know your family, so please invite your whole family to attend our free fun family events throughout the year. Information for events will be emailed and posted in our classroom prior to each event. You are always welcome to volunteer in our classroom and/or at any of our events.

Our small classes of just 6 children allows your child to be comfortable and grow valuable friendships with the other preschoolers and their teacher. Because conflict-resolution skills are super vital to learn at this age, we help your child work through their problems with other children. Pretty soon they’re using the same strategies and words we’ve taught them, all by themselves!

Your child will receive individualized instruction through our thorough assessments and curriculum. Teaching children is a huge responsibility, and we take that responsibility seriously! Find comfort knowing that your child's teacher is a registered nurse with certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and first aid. Our distinct policies and procedures regarding health and safety will help to keep your child in a safe and clean environment. We’re constantly cleaning, washing hands, and monitoring all activities to prevent any accidents.

To extend our learning we go on several field trips each year, and you get to join your child on them. Trip information will be emailed and posted within our classroom. We’ll also celebrate special occasions with parties for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, and your child’s birthday!
#8: Your child gets a shirt and portfolio!
Each year, your child will receive a different t-shirt for that school year to wear on Spirit Days. Some of our families have been with us so long they are t-shirt collectors! We also save some of your child’s artwork for a special portfolio you get at graduation.

We offer you the opportunity to enrich your preschool experience by enjoying book orders, school pictures, class pictures, graduation pictures, and cap ‘n gown pictures.

When should I call to register my child?
It’s never too early to call, so call as soon as you even think about registering, because our classes fill up ridiculously fast!
When does preschool start? Can I enroll mid-year?
We typically have a 10-month school year (Aug.-May), however since we are just opening in April, we are having an 8-week introductory Spring Program. If we have spots available, you can enroll mid-year. Please call us to see if we have any spots available.
How old does my child need to be to attend?
Preschool classes are for children who are ages 3-5 (and "independent almost-3-year-olds") by Sep. 1.
Does my child have to be potty trained?
Yes. If you have any questions about whether or not your child is ready, feel free to give us a call. We even have a “How To Potty Train” your child handout we can give you. It’s helped many preschool moms quickly potty train their kids. We’re here to help!
What is your teaching philosophy?
We follow a “whole child” philosophy where we work with you to improve your child’s Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Language, and Physical skills. Our curriculum is based on the NAEYC guidelines and features a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated hands-on activities to accomplish these goals. We also incorporate Fundamentals Preschool Curriculum. Your child will learn to socialize, make friends, develop social and emotional skills, and be more than ready for Kindergarten!
Are there additional fees during the year?
No. Your registration fee covers all your child’s supplies and reserves a spot in our program. Your child won’t pay anything to attend our field trips and activities. There may be an occasional cost for family, but we strive to keep all activities free or low cost. Your child will also receive at no extra cost: a preschool shirt to wear on Spirit Day and a graduation portfolio!
What if my child has food restrictions?
No worries. Several of our students have food intolerances or severe allergies. We ask these families to bring in their own snacks, and we create nut-free classrooms any time a child’s allergy is severe enough to require an epi pen.
Is the registration fee refundable?
No.
How many students do you have per class?
We have the smallest class sizes in town so your child gets lots of 1-on-1 time. We only have 6 never more than 7 students per class.
